Additional Explanation:
In Japanese junior high schools, there are "club activities" after school. Many students belong to either sports or cultural clubs and practice for several hours every day. Club activities are essential to the junior high school experience. Students choose clubs based on their interests, making these activities a significant part of their routine. The clubs' goals include skill development, teamwork, perseverance, and fostering a sense of community.
Students collaborate with classmates and students from different grades to prepare for city and prefectural competitions. Teachers usually serve as club advisors, even if they do not have expertise in the activity. This has become a concern, leading to a gradual shift towards involving experienced community members as advisors. Teachers who enjoy club advising can continue in their roles. Involving community experts aims to provide more specialized coaching and support to students.
